Brookhaven At Lexington provides the following benefit programs for eligible employees.
Eligible employees and their household members may utilize our confidential Employee Assistance Program at no cost. Assessment, referral and short-term counseling are available for a range of personal concerns.
Employees over the age of 18 may use the Brookhaven fitness equipment and locker room Monday thru Friday between the hours of 6:30 am to 8:00 am and 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm after completing an orientation and signing a release of liabilty and code of conduct.
Brookhaven recognizes six major holidays and four minor holidays per year. Major holidays include: New Years Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day. Minor holidays include: Martin Luther King Day (optional)/President’s Day (standard); Patriot’s Day; Columbus Day; and Veteran’s Day.
Brookhaven maintains a program to provide life insurance to all Full-Time and Part-Time I employees. Life Insurance in an amount equal to an employee’s annual salary, rounded to the nearest $1,000 is available for eligible employees and paid for entirely by Brookhaven. Coverage begins on the first of the month following employment.
Brookhaven at Lexington offers employees an opportunity to purchase their lunch at a reasonable cost. Employees may purchase 5 lunch coupons for $7.00 ($1.40 each). The menu of available choices is posted outside the employee break room, along with coupon order forms and the order box.
This benefit program is designed to replace a percentage of a Full-Time or exempt employee’s annual salary if sick leave benefits have been exhausted. This benefit is paid for by Brookhaven and provides eligible employees with income protection if they become disabled for 90 days or more from a covered accidental bodily injury, sickness or pregnancy.
Health and dental insurance is available to Full-Time and Part-Time I employees beginning on their date of hire. We offer individual, family and two-person plans. Brookhaven shares the cost of these benefits with its eligible employees at varying levels according to hours worked and plans selected.
Eligible employees may earn up to 4 Personal Days per calendar year which are earned at the rate of one for each calendar quarter for perfect attendance. Exempt employees earn 4 Personal Days per calendar year regardless of attendance.
A Refer-a-friend bonus will be paid to eligible employees for referring employees who are employed for a six-month period or more.
Brookhaven sponsors a 403 (b) retirement plan for all Full-Time and Part-Time I employees. Employees may make tax-deferred contributions to the plan after completing their 90 day introductory period. After completing two full years of employment, with a minimum of 1,000 hours per year for two years, employees become eligible for matching and company contributions.
Eligible employees earn up to 6 days of casual sick time and 6 days of sick leave bank time per year and may accrue a maximum of 64 sick days consisting of 6 days of casual sick time and 58 days in the sick leave bank.
After six months of employment, full-time employees may be reimbursed for up to $1,000 annually for certificate or degree program courses which enable them to maintain their current position or prepare for other opportunities within Brookhaven. Part Time I employees may be reimbursed for up to $500 annually for such courses. Employees who are enrolled in courses or a program that will result in a degree in Nursing may be reimbursed for up to $1,500 annually for such courses and part-time I employees may be reimbursed for up to $750 annually for such courses.
Eligible employees may earn up to 10 days vacation per year based upon hours worked and length of employment. After four years of employment, employees may earn up to 15 days vacation per year.
1 Part-Time I employees (employees who work between 20 and 37.4 hours per week) earn Holidays, Personal Days, Sick Leave, and Vacation Leave on a pro-rated basis according to the number of regularly scheduled hours per week.
